Description

Pearson House is a house built in 1881, incorporating elements from the 17th century, and is likely designed by the architectural firm Paley and Austin. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic. The windows are rebated and chamfered, featuring mullions.

On the south wall, there is a projecting gabled wing on the right side, along with a ground-floor drip course. The front wall includes a canted bay window on the ground floor, which has three lights at the front and one light on each side of the canted section. Above this, on the first floor, is a three-light window with a hood, and a two-light attic window sits above that. To the left, there are three-light windows on both floors, with the first-floor window also featuring a hood. In the angle with the wing on the right, there is a blocked doorway with a moulded surround, moulded imposts, and a decorative design on the lintel. Above this doorway is a plaque inscribed with 'IA 1683'. A chimney is located on the left-hand gable.

The east wall features a two-storey gabled porch. To the right of the porch is a bay with one-light windows, and further right is a gabled bay that has a four-light window on the ground floor and a three-light window above it. The porch itself has a three-light window on each floor, and there is a doorway in its left-hand return wall with a moulded surround and the inscription 'DG 1881'. There is also a chimney on the front wall to the left of the porch and another to the left of the gabled bay.
