Description
Jackhouse Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with a 19th-century addition at the east end. The west wing is currently undergoing restoration. The building is constructed of coursed sandstone with large quoins and features a stone slate roof. It has a T-plan layout, consisting of one bay (extended to two) with a two-bay crosswing.
The farmhouse is two storeys high. The original front, facing south, has a ground floor that includes a six-light double chamfered stone mullion window with a hoodmould. On the first floor, there are two mullioned windows of unequal size that are positioned close together. The gable of the wing features similar five-light windows with hoodmoulds, although the lower window is damaged.
At the rear, there is another four-light window with a hoodmould, a stair turret located at the angle of the wing, and three additional windows—one on each floor—with four lights on the first floor and two lights in the attic.
