Description
The Conservative Club, built between 1890 and 1891, is an ashlar structure with a slate roof. It features a symmetrical five-bay facade designed in a free Jacobean style, comprising a basement and three storeys, along with an attic. The raised entrance has a round-headed doorway flanked by coupled columns, topped with an entablature and pediment. The outer bays are accentuated by two-storey canted bays with parapets and finials. The windows up to the second storey are large and include mullions and transoms, while those on the top floor are mostly round-headed. The attic is adorned with a balustrade featuring finials, a central blind pedimented dormer inscribed "CONSERVATIVE CLUB," and mansard-roofed attics with gabled dormers at the corners. The interior is of little interest.
