Description

Canal Bridge Number 72, also known as Idle Bridge, is a bridge that spans the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, originally part of the Lancaster Canal South End. It was likely built in the 1790s and is constructed from stone. The bridge features an elliptical arch with a triple keystone and has buttressed piers at each end. The walls of the bridge are battered and curve inwards towards the center, and it is adorned with bands and parapets that have rounded coping.
