Description
The Canal Aqueduct, built in the 1790s, likely by John Rennie, carries the Leeds - Liverpool Canal (originally the Lancaster Canal South End) over the River Yarrow. It features a single elliptical arch with rusticated rock-faced stone retaining walls that are curved and battered. The structure includes a moulded cornice, curved parapets, and sloping abutments made of tooled ashlar.
