Description
The railway viaduct, built around 1840, carries the Bolton and Preston railway over Black Brook and is likely designed by J. Alexander Adie. It is constructed from punched gritstone and features eight rounded arches with rock-faced voussoirs supported by rectangular piers, which are particularly high in the center and topped with moulded caps. The structure lacks coping and has a modern concrete parapet.
