Description
The Craft Museum, located approximately 40 meters west of Towneley Hall, is a former brew house dating from around 1790, which has been altered over time. The building is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular plan, stands two stories tall, and has three irregularly spaced windows. The left end of the building has a wide elliptical-arched doorway, while the center features a depressed-arched doorway. Large flat-faced flush mullion windows, consisting of four lights on the first floor, four lights on the second floor, and three lights on the upper floor, are present on both levels. Inside, the museum showcases pegged king-post roof trusses with fishbone struts.
