Description
The Game Larder is located to the south of the site of Stackpole Court, next to the Brewery. This building predates the Brewery, which was constructed in 1843.
It consists of a single room measuring 5.4 meters by 3.6 meters, built from rendered rubble masonry and topped with a hipped slate roof supported by two trusses. There is one entrance door on the north side, with windows and ventilators on the east and west sides. Below the trusses, two suspended beams feature rows of hooks for hanging game, and there is a later hanging frame at a lower level with eight similar beams. The floor is made of slate, and the window sills are also slate. The original design of the windows is not evident.
Currently, the building serves as a National Trust information point. It is recognized as a complete example of its type and is listed for its group value alongside the other remaining structures from Stackpole Court.
