Description
The retaining wall of the River Brun, located on the south side of School Lane in Burnley, was rebuilt in the late 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone rubble. The wall features cast-iron needle-headed railings supported by bracketed columnar standards that have urn finials, all mounted on a low sandstone plinth. This structure forms a group with a slightly different section of retaining wall on Bank Parade and with Church Street Bridge.
