Description
The parapet and retaining wall to the River Brit, built in the mid-19th century, runs from the bridge to the west of West Mills, extending as far west as the road bridge over the River Brit. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar coping. The wall ramps upwards to slightly higher levels at six intervals, each featuring an ashlar cartouche set into the wall below. At the eastern end, there is a terminal pier topped with a moulded and pyramidal cap.
