HAIGH COPPERAS LANE (north side) St David Haigh and Aspull Church of England Primary School and School House
GV II School and former master's house. 1846. Brick with stone dressings, slate roof with tile crest. One storey, nine bays, the first bay of two storeys. First, fifth and ninth bays break forward under gables with decorative bargeboards. Wide eaves and verges. Windows have hollow-chamfered architraves and label moulds; small-paned casements of a type found on the Haigh estate. First bay has round-headed window with Y-form glazing bars to first floor; ninth bay has first floor bull's eye window. Central bay has two entrances with hollow-chamfered architraves and label moulds; elongated octagonal plaque with architrave above and sundial in round-headed architrave to gable. Two cross-axial stacks with clustered octagonal shafts. Flight of nine steps leads to entrances. Returns have gabled bays breaking forward with entrances.
