Description

Bradley Hall Public House is a building that dates back to the 16th or 17th century, with a mid-19th century casing. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and three gabled bays, with the third bay projecting. It has a stone base and quoins, along with decorative barge boards. The windows have brick flat arches and three-light frames with moulded mullions; the ground floor windows include transoms and all lights are cusped. The gabled porch has an entrance with a four-centred head and a half-glazed door, with a small light to the right. The right side of the building has a projecting lateral stack and two gabled bays with two-storey canted bay windows, while the left side features a gabled projection.

Inside, there are substantial remains of the original timber-framed structure. There is a cross wall between the first and second bays, likely part of the original gable end. The first bay includes ovolo moulded beams and posts on both floors. The ground floor room has moulded beams, and the third bay contains a fireplace bressumer and a later stone fireplace with a herringbone brick back. The first floor features king post and strut trusses on wall posts, along with a chamfered beam in the third bay projection.
