Description

The Village Cross and Stocks, located in Standish-with-Langtree's Market Place, is a historical structure likely dating back to the medieval period for its cross base and steps, with the remainder from the 18th or 19th century. It is made of stone and features four square steps leading up to a chamfered base. The flat cross has a wider base, and its arms are slightly splayed at the ends. To the north, the stocks consist of two posts with decorative heads, while the post to the west is likely a replacement and shows mortises for two timber footboards.
