Description

This is a late 17th-century house located on the north side of Sale Lane in Tyldesley. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick with a slate roof, which replaced a thatched roof. The house has two bays and two storeys. Stone quoins are present. The front door has been replaced and is located to the right. There are two ground floor windows with elliptical brick-arched heads, keystones, and 20th-century casements. Two first-floor windows are horizontally sliding sash windows. Ridge chimney stacks are situated to the left and right of the house. The right gable-end was refaced with brick in the 20th century. Replacement casements and a horizontally sliding sash window are located at the rear. Internally, original floor beams, joists, and roof purlins remain.
