Description
The Old Rectory, located on Carrington Road in Urmston, is a house that was originally built as a rectory in 1825. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical, 3-bay, 2-storey central-staircase plan with a stone plinth. The central entrance consists of a 6-panel door flanked by engaged Roman Doric columns, topped with a fanlight and a semi-circular brick arch. There are two 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor and three on the first floor, along with a 12-pane sash window, all featuring stone sills and flat brick arches. An additional window has been inserted into the left gable at attic level, and a Victorian square bay window has been added to the north-west corner. The building is capped with gable chimney stacks.
