Description
Westwood Lodge is a house built in 1768, as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of rendered brick and has a slate roof. The building features a double-depth central-staircase plan, with an 18th-century addition at the rear and a small 20th-century addition to the right. The front elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a projecting plinth and a modillion eaves cornice, with the central bay slightly advanced. The central porch is recessed and includes impost blocks, a keystone, and an elliptical arch, though doors were inserted in the 20th century. The windows consist of 3-light casements in the first and third bays, and a cross-casement in the second bay, all featuring stone sills and keystone arches. At the rear, there are 2 and 3-light casement windows. Inside, there is a dogleg stair with turned balusters and a deep handrail, which is partly concealed by a later partition.
