Description
Carr House is a house that was once used as a public house, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has four bays and is two storeys tall, with a depth of one room.
On the ground floor, there are three windows with one, three, and four lights, all featuring recessed flat-faced stone mullions. Between these windows are two doors, each framed by a square-cut stone surround and a canopy; the door on the right is enclosed by a 20th-century porch. The first floor has two, two, one, and four-light flat-faced stone mullion windows. The gable stacks have been heightened with brick. There is a lean-to structure against the right gable, with sash windows above it. At the rear, there is a small three-light window that is carved from a single piece of stone.
