Description
No. 37 Fairfield Square is a house built around 1875, constructed of Flemish bond brick with a slate roof. It has a double-depth plan with three bays and two storeys. The front elevation is symmetrical, featuring a stone plinth and a central four-panel door set in a recessed segmental-arched porch. On the ground floor, there are two paired sash windows with stone lintels and sills. The first floor has three sash windows, each with four panes, also with stone sills and lintels. The building has paired eaves gutter brackets and gable chimney stacks. It is included for its group value and as an integral part of the Fairfield Moravian settlement. In 1875, it served as the principal's house for the Theological College.
