Description
The stable wing adjoining the north-east of Moorgate House is a structure that dates from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared rubble, dressed and watershot stone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof and features a brick stack. The building comprises a barn, shippon, and a cottage, all in a single range.
The first bay has a segmental-headed barn door, while the second bay includes a shippon door with a square-cut surround, two windows, and a hayloft. The third bay features a five-light recessed chamfered stone mullion window, a ground floor door, and a six-light first floor mullion window. The mullions are cavetto-moulded, with each having a king mullion. There is also a gable stack. This building is included for its group value with Moorgate House.
