Description

A late 17th-century farmhouse with 18th-century additions, alongside two cottages, an adjoining barn, and a shippon. The construction is of squared rubble and watershot stone with a graduated stone slate roof. The building is a long, single-depth range with two storeys, incorporating a shippon and barn at the right end. A projecting plinth is present. Number 3, on the right-hand side, features a plain door, two 4-light ground floor windows, and 3- and 4-light first floor windows, all with chamfered stone mullions, though a total of five mullions are missing. Nos. 1 and 2, added to the left, have a variety of windows including 4- and 3-light flat-faced mullions, and a 20th-century bow window. Moorgate Farmhouse has a central door with a moulded surround and 2-, 3- and 5-light flat-faced mullion windows, some of which have mullions removed. The barn has a segmental-arched cart entry with a keystone and includes additions to the right and a lean-to to the front. Brick ridge chimney stacks are present. Interior features include chamfered floor beams.
