Description
Chadkirk House is a house dating from 1748, as indicated by the inscription "G : N 1748" on a rainwater head. This structure was added to an earlier house by George Nicholson. It is built of dressed stone, features brick chimney stacks, and has a slate roof. The facade is 4-bay and 2-storeys high, with a gable entrance and a slightly older wing at the rear. The house has rusticated quoins and four windows on each floor, all with stone surrounds and Victorian sash windows. The third window on the first floor and the gable doorway have rusticated keystone surrounds that are similar to those found on the adjoining Chadkirk Chapel. Additionally, the doorway features an enriched cast iron overlight and there are gable stacks.
