Description
The Spread Eagle Public House is a building dating from 1722, as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed of brick, with the front rendered, and features a slate roof. The structure has three bays by one bay and stands three storeys tall, with a two-storey addition at the rear that creates a double-depth plan. Notable architectural features include a projecting plinth, rusticated quoins, a boxed-in eaves cornice, and gable stacks. The entrance door, which has a later canopy, is located between the first and second bays. Each floor contains three windows, which are modern casement windows with stone sills and keystone wedge lintels.
