Description

This is a sundial from the mid-17th century, originally located at Marple Hall before it was demolished. Made of stone with a copper dial, the sundial features a column that has entasis, standing on a three-step plinth. The capital of the column supports the dial, which is marked with Roman numerals, although the gnomon is missing.
