Description
Benja Cottage, located at Benja Fold, is a house dating from the 17th century, with a 20th-century addition. The building is primarily timber-framed, though some sections have been replaced with brick, and it features a thatched roof. The original structure consists of two rooms on the ground floor and two on the upper floor, with a two-storey gabled crosswing added to the right in the 20th century. The cottage has a total of five 2-light casement windows and includes a 20th-century porch. Some original posts and braces remain visible on the front, along with a truss in the left gable. Inside, most of the internal frames and roof members are well preserved, along with a battened door.
