Description

Bramble Cottage is a house located on Worsley Road, dating from the 1760s. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a graduated slate roof. The building has two bays and stands two storeys high. The entrance is off-centre and is topped by a gabled 20th-century canopy. On each floor, there are two three-light multi-pane casement windows, with the right ground floor window having a segmental-arched head. There are ridge chimney stacks on both the left and right sides of the house. At the front, there is a stone garden wall that adjoins the cottage. This group of houses is believed to have been built by the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater for his canal operatives and workers.
