Description

Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of rough-cast brick, with a slate roof. The house is an L-shaped range with a small addition to the rear.

The two-bay front elevation features a central 6-panel door with a later canopy, and two near-flush sash windows on each floor, with 16 panes to the upper floor and 12 panes to the lower. A coped parapet is present on the first bay, and a coped gable on the second, both dating from the late 19th century when the roof was altered.

To the right return are 1, 2, and 3-light casement windows, largely retaining their glazing bars. A gabled dormer window is also present. A small lean-to addition is visible to the left return. Rendered chimney stacks are a feature of the property. Casement and sash windows are found on the rear elevation.
