Description

The boat house, built in the early 19th century, is located to the west of The Green. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof. The building has a long, narrow shape with a pitched roof and double gates at one end. The timber gates are set within an elliptical brick arch, which is topped with a castellated parapet and has stepped sides. This boat house was used by the 1st Earl of Ellesmere to store the boat that Queen Victoria used during her visit to Worsley.
