Description
Bramley Cottage and Hirons is a house that has been converted into a pair of cottages. It dates back to the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The building is constructed from rubblestone, which is partly colourwashed and rendered, and it features a concrete pantile roof. The structure has three bays and two storeys, with No. 25 on the right-hand side. This cottage has a right-hand door and two small-paned casement windows. No. 23 has an off-centre four-panelled door with a shallow hood supported by brackets, along with two-light small-paned casements, except for the left-hand ground floor, which has sash windows. There is also a small leaded fireplace window on the right side. The building has a gable stack and a colourwashed and rendered stack on the party wall. Inside, there are stopped and chamfered spine beams, and in the fireplace of No. 23, there is a massive lintel supported by oak stepped corbels. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing with a slate roof that is set at right angles to the main building.
