Description
Silver Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 24th August 1789, as inscribed on a stone above the door. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone in narrow courses with a slate roof. The building features three bays and two storeys, plus a basement. There is a stepped approach to the door, which has an overlight and a square-cut stone surround situated between the first and second bays. The first and second bays contain rectangular windows on the ground floor and a 3-light flat-faced mullion window on the first floor, with the central light being larger than the outer lights. The third bay was added slightly later, and its windows follow the same pattern as those in the other bays. The farmhouse has plain eaves gutter brackets and chimney stacks at the ridge and gable.
