Description
Knott Booth Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date from the mid 17th century, with the barn added in the 18th century. The building features irregular stone and hammer-dressed stone with a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is a two-bay, two-storey structure with the barn to the right, both under the same roof. The second bay of the house projects slightly. The ground floor has two, five, and two-light double-chamfered mullion windows, with an additional window inserted between them, all beneath a continuous hoodmould. The first floor features four and three-light chamfered mullion windows. There are brick ridge and gable chimney stacks, while the rear of the building is obscured by later additions. The barn includes a semi-circular-headed cart entry and an opposed winnowing door. Inside, there are hewn beams and two adjacent doors in the crosswall, which have heavy timber frames and share a common central jamb.
