Description

Pottery Cottage is a 19th-century building that was originally the Pottery Wesleyan Methodist Sunday School, established in 1825, as indicated by a plaque above the door. It is constructed of watershot stone and features a stone slate roof. The interior hall has been divided by partitions and includes 20th-century timber porches at both the front and rear doors. At the back, there is a small boiler room. The building has three bays with one-storey openings that feature semi-circular arches with impost blocks and 20th-century casement windows. The school functioned as a chapel until the Syke Chapel was built.
