Description
Lowhouse Cottage is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of squared rubble and has a 20th-century tile roof. The building features a two-unit, two-storey plan with quoins and a projecting plinth. A continuous drip mould runs along the first floor, rising above a nearly central door that has a segmental-arched head and a dressed chamfered surround. On each floor, there are two three-light double-chamfered stone mullion windows. The cottage has kneelers and a 20th-century chimney stack.
On the left side, there is a three-light chamfered mullion window on the ground floor, which was originally located on the first floor, featuring arched lights. Additionally, there is a dressed circular opening in the gable. The right gable has been rebuilt. At the rear, there is a three-light flat-faced mullion window, a 20th-century patio window, and a twelve-light flat-faced mullion window on the first floor, which was inserted in the 18th century. Inside, there are chamfered floor beams with run-out stops.
