Description
This is a row of five (originally six) houses located on Calderbrook Road in Littleborough, dating from the mid to late 18th century. The houses are constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone with a roof of graduated stone slates. Each house is one bay wide and has one room on each of two storeys. Quoins mark the corners of the houses. Each house originally had a door with a square-cut surround, although one has subsequently been altered with a 20th-century porch. They all feature a two-light recessed chamfered mullion window on each floor. Five prominent chimney stacks are positioned along the ridge. Several small extensions have been added to the rear of the properties. Some of the houses retain their original fireplaces, with stone mantel cornices.
