Description
Brow Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a long double-depth range with two storeys and a later wing added to the rear left. The left section, now consisting of four bays, includes 20th-century window openings on both floors. The fifth bay has quoins and a door to the right that has been inserted into a former window opening. It also features a five-light recessed chamfered cavetto-moulded mullion window on the ground floor and an eight-light recessed flat-faced mullion window on the first floor. The farmhouse has kneelers and three ridge chimney stacks. There is a blocked door on the right gable with a square-cut surround, along with two and four-light recessed cavetto-moulded mullion windows (the four-light window has had its mullion removed) and blocked attic lights. The rear of the building has two and three-light windows similar to those on the front.
