Description
Ackers Farmhouse is a late 18th-century house located on Standedge Road in Saddleworth. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone, which is now painted, and features a graduated stone slate roof. This three-storey, double-depth house is built into the hillside and has quoins at the corners.
The central door is located at first floor level and has a dressed surround, although it is obscured by a 20th-century porch. The front and gable sides of the house have recessed flat-faced mullion windows with one, two, and three lights. At the rear, a door has been inserted, and a conservatory has been added to the first bay, which includes a five-light window on the upper floor. The second bay features five, five, and six-light windows, although one mullion is missing. The house is topped with ridge chimney stacks.
