Description

Nook Farmhouse and Number 5 is a farmhouse and cottage built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a double-depth central-entrance plan, with the cottage accessed through the gable, and consists of two storeys. The structure includes quoins, a central door with a dressed surround, and is flanked by 6-light mullion windows. There is a 4-light basement window to the left, which has had two mullions removed, and a 10-light workshop window on the first floor. All windows are designed with recessed flat-faced stone mullions and king mullions. The gables are coped with kneelers and feature gable chimney stacks. A lean-to porch is located to the left and at the rear. The gables and rear of the building have 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9-light windows, one of which is blocked. Additionally, there is a blocked taking-in door on the right gable.
