Description
Carr Head Cottage is a house dated 1784, as indicated by the inscription on the door lintel. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has one bay and three storeys, with a 20th-century lean-to extension at the rear. The corners of the cottage are marked by quoins. There is a door on the right with a square-cut surround, and the windows include a 2-light window on the ground floor, a 6-light window on the first floor with a king mullion, and a 4-light window on the second floor, all featuring recessed cavetto-moulded stone mullions. A brick ridge chimney stack is present, and the right gable has been largely rebuilt. Additionally, there is a door with a dressed surround and a dated lintel on the left gable.
