Description

SADDLEWORTH HUDDERSFIELD ROAD SE 00 NW (east side) Diggle 4/168 Nos. 2 and 2A (Thurstons House) - Thurstons G.V. II 2 houses. Late C18 but incorporating earlier work perhaps of 1749. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. 3-bay 3-storey plan of various builds and with a small 2-storey wing to rear. Quoins. C20 porch to bay 3 which incorporates the earlier work in the form of a 2 and 4-light double-chamfered stone mullion window. The other ground floor windows are C20 bow windows. 5, 7 and 10-light first floor windows and 5, 7 and 8-light second floor windows all with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. 4 ridge chimney stacks. 1, 2, 3 and 5-light windows to gables and rear.
