Description
This is a row of three houses, now serving as two dwellings, built in the mid-18th century in Oldham. The houses are constructed from roughly coursed and squared stone, cut into small blocks, with stone-flagged roofs. The construction occurred in two distinct phases. Numbers 1 and 3 likely represent the original structure, a two-story building with a deep two-unit plan. It features an off-centre doorway flanked by five-light stone mullioned windows on each floor. A lean-to porch was added to the gable wall, providing access, and there is an end wall stack. Number 5 adjoins the earlier building to the right. It probably began as a deep single-unit plan with a five-light stone mullioned window on each floor, later extended by one bay to the right. A doorway is located to the left of the extension, next to a two-light stone mullioned window, and there's a gable wall stack.
