Description

The gateway to the former Blind Workshops, likely originally serving as the entrance to the coach-house yard of Werneth Park, was built around 1870. It is constructed from brick with stone dressings. The design features a wide central gateway flanked by concave walls. The terminal piers of these walls are made of brick with stone bands and have stepped pyramidal caps. The main gate piers are also brick, adorned with stone bands and scroll mouldings, supporting a stilted arch made of stone voussoirs and a heavy key. Above the arch is a pediment that includes a crest in a roundel and a spiked ball finial.
