WERRINGTON SX 38 NW 9/311 Gate-piers, gate and walls at north - entrance to Werrington Park, directly to south Lodge

GV II

Gate-piers, gate and walls at north entrance to Werrington Park. Circa mid C19. Stone rubble with brick dressings. Wide entrance for carriageway with narrower entrance for pedestrians on the south west. Central wide entrance for carriageway with simple granite rectangular-on-plan gate- piers and.circa late C19 wrought iron barred gate. Flanked by high stone rubble walls saddle-back brick coping. On the south west side a round dressed stone arch, pierced in the wall, forms a narrower entrance for pedestrians with a timber slatted gate. Forms part of a group with North Lodge (q.v.).
