Description
The park wall and gateways bordering Wollaton Road date from the late 18th century and were altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. Constructed of brick, the wall is approximately 2 meters high and features an incomplete stone plinth with brick coping. It extends westward from Cambridge Road for about 800 meters. At Lodges Nos 1 and 2, there are a pair of panelled square gate piers topped with cross gabled ashlar caps, although the ones at Lodge 1 have been renewed. The wooden double gates have also been renewed. East of Lodge 1, there is a late 20th-century gateway designed in the same style, followed by a simpler gateway leading to the kitchen gardens.
