Description

Garden Cottage and attached outbuildings at Wollaton Park is a gardener's cottage that has been converted into a house, along with its outbuildings. The cottage dates from the late 18th century and the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features concrete tile roofs. The cottage has hipped roofs and brick stacks on the side and rear walls. It is two stories tall and has a three-window range, forming an L-shape. The windows are casements with pointed arched brick heads and Gothick glazing bars. There is a central doorway with a similar arched head and an overlight, featuring a fielded six-panel door. On either side of the door, there is a single window, and above, there are three smaller windows. The right side of the cottage, facing east, has two windows on each floor, with the ground floor windows having been reglazed. To the right of the cottage are two ranges of single-storey outbuildings, which have irregular window arrangements, mostly from the late 20th century. The nearest range to the cottage has a roof made of Westmorland slate and plain tiles, while the range further right, dating from the 18th century, features coped gables.
