Description

The Churchill Public House is an early 19th-century public house that has been altered. It features white-painted stucco on brick and a slate roof, with a rectangular plan situated on a corner site. The building is currently two storeys high with three windows, although it likely was originally three storeys. The design is symmetrical and includes a sill-band at the window level, with a tall central doorway adorned with a cornice on elongated consoles and a square overlight with margin panes. There are two tall windows with glazing bars and a lettered band above the ground floor. The upper floor has three small square two-light casements. A chimney is located at the junction with the adjacent property, No.39, to the right. The left gable wall has a blocked doorway with an overlight similar to the front, a window to the left, and two small casements on the upper floor. The building adjoins No.39 to the right and No.9 Richmond Street to the rear, which it likely resembled before its remodelling. It is included for its group value.
