Public house. Early C19, altered. White-painted stucco on brick, slate roof. Rectangular plan on corner site. Now 2 storeys and 3 windows (but probably formerly 3 storeys), symmetrical, with a sill-band to windows which are at 2nd-floor level; tall central doorway with cornice on elongated consoles and square overlight with margin panes, and 2 tall windows with glazing bars; lettered band over ground floor; 3 small square 2-light casements to the upper floor. Chimney at junction with No.39 to right. Left gable wall has blocked doorway with overlight like that at front, window to left and 2 small casements to the upper floor. Adjoins No.39 to right (q.v.) and No.9 Richmond Street to rear (q.v.), which it probably formerly resembled before remodelling. Included for group value.
