Description
This warehouse or industrial building is located on Cable Street, Ancoats, Manchester, and dates from the mid to later 19th century. Constructed primarily of brick with stone dressings, it is rectangular in form with a gable facing the road. The building has four storeys and originally featured 3 x 10 windows. A central segmental-headed doorway is present, flanked by segmental-headed windows, all featuring stepped jambs that resemble simplified pilasters, complete with moulded heads and feet. A moulded brick band sits above the top floor. The gable was rebuilt, incorporating a central window, moulded bands to the coping, and an added or rebuilt chimney on the left slope. The long sides are similar but have simpler windows, with those to the basement now blocked. The rear gable wall has tiered loading doorways on the right side. The interior has not been inspected.
