Description
The Victoria Park Hotel, originally built as three houses around 1840, is now functioning as a single hotel. The building is constructed of stucco, painted white, and features a slate roof. It has an irregular H-plan layout, consisting of a long main range with wings and a projected porch, designed in the Gothick style.
The hotel is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of 1:3:1, with the central three-bay section slightly projecting forward. This section includes a two-storey gabled porch that connects to the projected gabled wings through short re-entrants. The building has a plinth, a sill-band on the central section, and a coped parapet that steps over the gables.
The porch features a segmental-pointed arched outer doorway with a hoodmould, flanked by matching windows on each side. Inside the porch, there is a similarly arched inner doorway with a geometrical traceried fanlight above it. The first-floor window above the porch has margin panes and a hoodmould, with gable coping that includes kneelers and a finial. The other first-floor windows match this design, except for small inserted windows in the re-entrants.
On the ground floor, the wings have canted bay windows; the right bay has similar margin-paned sashes, while the left bay, which is larger, features 4-pane sashed glazing. The second and fourth bays have large tripartite sashes. A ridge chimney is located to the right of the center. The rear and interior of the building have not been inspected.
