Description
5 and 7 Moon Grove are a pair of houses built between 1833 and 1840. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a slate roof. Each house has a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, with adjoining halls. The buildings are two storeys high and have a cellar, with three windows on the first floor, the center window being blind. The round-headed doorways are accessed by steps and have panelled doors with fanlights that include radiating glazing bars. The houses have 16-pane sashed windows, except for the ground floor of No. 5, which has a 12-pane replacement window. Gable chimneys are present. The rear and interior of the houses were not inspected. Historically, they are part of a small speculative development by a flour dealer who acquired the site of Moon Grove in 1833 and they form a group with No. 4 and No. 6.
