Description

Elton House is a dated house of 1731, located on Elton Vale Road. It is constructed of coursed rubble. The front has a broken pediment over the door, inscribed with "P/WA/1731". The main part of the house is two storeys high, with a five-window upper storey. These windows are fitted with 19th-century sash windows set within flush architraves which have concave chamfers. The ground floor has a six-panel, part-glazed door set within a stone classical surround, located within a wider central bay. This bay is flanked by wide, 19th-century square bay windows. A return front has an original stone-mullioned casement window with a drip-mould in the attic floor. A lower, two-storey addition on the right-hand side dates to the 19th century and is not part of the listed structure.
