Description

The Direction Stone, dated 1834, is located at the junction with Tottington Road. It is made of painted stone and stands about 4 feet high, with a roughly square shape and a segmental head on each face. Two of its faces are inscribed with place names and have outlines of directional hands set within oval frames.
