Description

Nos 3 and 4 Walsh Fold is a late 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. It is constructed of dressed stone with quoins and features a stone slate roof and brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with the end bay having a gabled roof.

The windows are double-chamfered mullioned, with the ground floor featuring 4:5:2:5-light windows, although the window in the first bay is missing two mullions. The first floor has 3:5:1:4-light windows, and the window in the third bay is a blocked round-headed light. There is an entrance with a 20th-century glazed porch located between the first and second bays, as well as an entrance to the end bay. The building has a cross-axial stack, and the right return includes a blocked round-headed light and two 2-light windows on the first floor, along with two brick lateral stacks.

At the rear, there is a later outshut with a swept cat-slide roof that partially obscures an earlier window, along with a mullioned window and a later entrance in the first bay. The interior features chamfered beams and a bressumer above a former fireplace, as well as timber-framed partitions. The roof structure includes collar trusses, and part of the interior has been inspected.
